Materials used in running shoes:
-Dupont Hytrel thermoplastic, a crystalline hard segment made of polybutylene terephthalate and a soft segment made of morphous glycol, used in the support cushion
- Thermoplastic urethane, used in a support pad the provides stability and control under the arches
- Graphite, used in a pronation control device, helps prevent rolling of the ankles
- Synthetics and mesh, used in the outer layer of the shoe
- Rubber, used in the sole
- Ethyl vinyl acetate, used in the cushioning inside the shoe
