Throughout the week, New York State chemistry teachers participated in a variety of activities such as lectures by Cornell faculty, hands-on laboratory activities and research facility tours. Through these activities, the teachers developed an appreciation for modern chemistry, learned about recent advances in the field and gained a deeper understanding of the topics they teach.

The 2005 CICT program ran from July 11 - July 15 and included the following talks, labs and activities:

  • Mining the Internet (Chemistry Librarian Leah Solla)
  • "Electrochemistry" (Prof. Frank DiSalvo)
  • Batteries Lab (DiSalvo Research Group)
  • Bleach Titration Lab (Dr. Catherine Oertel)
  • "Fuel Cells" (Prof. Héctor Abruña)
