Throughout the week, New York State chemistry teachers participated in a variety of activities such as lectures by Cornell faculty, hands-on laboratory activities and research facility tours. Through these activities, the teachers developed an appreciation for modern chemistry, learned about recent advances in the field and gained a deeper understanding of the topics they teach.
The 2006 CICT program ran from July 10 - July 14 and included the following talks, labs and activities:
- "Organic Chemistry " (Prof. Jón Njarðarson)
- Tour of Cornell Theory Center Computer Aided Virtual Environment CTC CAVE (Ken Ridley)
- Lab Safety Training
- Organic Chemistry Demos and Tour (Njarðarson Research Group)
- "New Polymer Forming Reactions" (Prof. Dotsevi Sogah)
- Polymers Lab (Sogah Research Group)
- Teacher developed labs sharing session
