What does CICT stand for?
CICT stands for the CCMR Institute for Chemistry Teachers and is a wonderful professional development opportunity for high school and community college chemistry teachers.

When is the CICT program?
The CICT program runs for one week during the summer. For 2011, the dates are July 18 - July 22.

Who is eligible for the CICT program?
To be eligible for the CICT program you must be a US citizen or permanent resident and teach chemistry at the high school or community college level.

How do I apply?
To apply to the CICT program you must submit a complete application. This includes an application form, school profile sheet, statement of purpose, resumé, and two letters of recommendation. Directions for applying can be found on our How to Apply page.

Where is the CICT program held?
The CICT program is held at the Cornell Center for Materials Research (CCMR) on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, New York.

How much does it cost?
The CICT program does not cost you anything. All fees are covered by CCMR.

Is housing available?
Yes, for teachers who require housing, CCMR will pay for on-campus housing for the duration of the program.

Is college credit available for participation in the program?
Yes, college credit is available. The one week course is worth one Cornell graduate credit through the Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology and the School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions.

What chemistry topics does the CICT program cover?
The topics vary from year to year depending on the interests of the participating teachers and the availability of faculty presenters. You can look at previous topics by viewing past programs.
