Keck SEM (LEO)
SEM image showing different levels of a multi-layered alumina-silicate porous thin film. The pores (avg. diameter 24 nm) are hexagonally arranged and are disjointed between layers. Pt nanoparticles, avg. size 4.5 nm, have been deposited via ink-jet printing and are present both in the pores and on the wall of the matrix.
