The image shows three polystyrene (PS) colloids having a red blood corpuscle, or erythrocyte-like, morphology. Particle surfaces are decorated with C Dots c.a. 30nm (fluorescent silica nanoparticles) and larger ZnS heteroaggregates to produce a raspberry-type particle via the controlled thermal decomposition reaction.
