Spherulite formation in thin films of organic small molecules after exposure to solvent vapor. In blends of anthradithiophene:buckminsterfullerene, anthradithiophene is easily identifiable by its strong photoluminescence emission under a fluorescence microscope (right). Orientated crystal platelets within the spherulites display a Maltese Cross in a crossed-polarized light microscope (left).
