SEM: Leica(440)-Bard

A colloidal suspension of titanium dioxide particles was deposited on a glass substrate to form a 5 micron thick film. Instead of standard high temperature furnace sintering, the film was converted to fragile titania flakes after a rapid thermal anneal with a 50 mJ laser pulse.
