For Entrepreneurs and Start-ups
The CCMR provides assistance tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs and startups via the following programs:
Pre-Seed Workshop (PSW)
The PSW program consists of two intense 1-day sessions separated by 1-week of "homework." Workshop teams are formed around a faculty or student inventor with an idea, a post-doc or graduate student, an undergraduate, an MBA candidate and an experienced startup coach from the business community who leads the team.
The team members help the inventor to better understand their technology and its applications, the corresponding markets, the competition and help them analyze the business potential of their idea.
More information on the Workshop can be found at http://www.psw-ny.com
SBIR training sessions
Existing small businesses are eligible for the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs of the US government. The SBIR workshops are designed to bring current information and practical advice to small businesses, and Cornell faculty, students and postdocs, interested in these sources of funding.
These sessions are sponsored by the CCMR and organized by the Cornell Institute for Biotechnology and Life Sciences Technology
