Professor: Gregory Fuchs
Project Description: The project is focused on understanding and using the physical properties of color centers in wide-bandgap materials and two dimensional (2D) materials. Activities may include making 2D material heterostructures using a transfer station, assisting with measurements in a cryogenic confocal microscope, programing experimental sequences, and modeling optical, acoustic, or electromagnetic devices. The student will work closely with a graduate student or postdoc already working in this area. The research is relevant to the development of devices and systems for quantum technologies including quantum sensing and quantum networks.
