FOM Instrument Access Request

Instrument Access in FOM is determined by the manager for a given instrument. You can request access to an instrument by following the below steps:

1. Navigate to your User Home page, and find the “Available Equipment” section on the right.
   Click on the instrument for which you would like to request access to.
   

 

2. Review and accept the User Agreement.
   

 

3. Select your user type.
   

 

4. Click OK on the confirmation pop-up.
   

 

The manager will be notified at this point, and will review and authorize your access to that instrument.

Note that some instruments do not need explicit approval by a manager. For example, Lending Library items do not require training and special review. For those items, you will be granted immediate access once you click OK on the confirmation pop-up.
