We are pleased to announce that Dr. Darren Dale has joined the CCMR Shared Facilities staff. Darren received his PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from Cornell in 2006, and since that time has been working as a staff scientist at the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) and additionally as the Associate Director of the InSitμ Center since 2015. During his time at CHESS, Darren managed and supported the A2, F2, F3 and G3 beamline programs and designed unique instrumentation for a variety of experiments, including in-situ studies of thin film growth and in-situ studies of structural materials using high-energy x rays.
The Clark Hall Materials Facility will rely on Darren for his extensive expertise in materials research and characterization, supporting user research needs related to surface science, magnetic and electrical characterization, vacuum science and more. We know that many researchers will benefit from Darren’s expertise.
