Thermo Fisher Titan 300 (Perseus) Details
Duffield Hall 150 (Primary Staff: John Grazul; Secondary Staff: Phil Carubia, Mick Thomas)
The Perseus STEM is a general-purpose, high-resolution microscope for imaging and analysis of a broad range of materials and biological samples.
- A Schottky field emitter (S-FEG) is fitted.
- An Electron Microscope Pixel Array Detector (EMPAD) is a direct electron detector with high-dynamic range and 1100 fps maximum acquisition rate, enabling unique and powerful imaging and analytical capabilities. Its high current limit per pixel and single electron sensitivity enables the recording of fast, high-quality diffraction patterns for 4-D STEM analysis of local strain, order, orientation, and magnetic and electric fields.
- Operating voltages of 120 kV, 200 kV, and 300 kV are available.
- An x-ray detector (Oxford Inca) enables high energy resolution elemental analysis.
- An EELS spectrometer (Gatan Enfina) enables analysis of chemical composition and bonding states.
- Gatan UltraScan CCD detector for routine TEM and diffraction imaging.
- Single and double tilt holders for room temperature and cryo work.
- Available modes of operation: TEM, cryo-TEM, Bright Field/Dark Field TEM/STEM, EDS, EELS.
