TA Instruments DMA Q800 DMTA

TA Instruments DMA Q800 Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA) Details

Bard Hall B56 (Primary Staff: Kevin Silverstein; Secondary Staff: Mark Pfeifer)

Provides time, temperature (temperature control is currently unavailable) and frequency-domain mechanical analysis of materials as well as static mechanical testing such as tensile and compressive analysis. It can also be used for transient testing such as creep and stress relaxation.  Available geometries include: tension, shear, compression, three-point bending, and dual cantilever. The DMA is very similar to the DHR3 Rheometer but for stiffer materials.
