|The mission of the Cornell Center for Materials Research Industrial Outreach Program is to promote active cooperation between Cornell University and industry; advance technology transfer from the University to for profit entities; and foster economic development in New York State.
The M.Eng program of the College of Engineering Materials Science Department is designed to provide hands-on applications to burgeoning engineers as well as an opportunity to explore unique interests and pursue professional goals.
The CCMR and the Materials Science Department are therefore in a unique position to collaborate and offer to industry and students opportunities to work on an identified crucial needs, gain access to highly skilled labor for ones and professional experience for others.
The CCMR will co-sponsor selected industry-sponsored Materials Science M.Eng Projects. The CCMR sponsorship will amount to funding 33% of the project cost, not to exceed $5,000.

Please note that NYS’s Empire State Development (ESD) office requires us to report annually economic impacts that resulted from the CCMR-funded project to demonstrate return on the state’s investments: economic impact reporting.
The CCMR will write press releases, success stories and articles with the collaboration of the industrial partners to showcase the CCMR program and the partner company.
