Research aims at understanding and predicting the deformation and failure of stuctures by undelaying physical mechanisms that control the failure of engineered materials. It includes theoretical and experimental studies of the long-term reliability of fibrous composites under high stresses with applications for wind turbine blades, ballistic impact and flexible composite panels for light vehicles.
